Google's I'm Feeling Lucky button now showcases Google products according to various feelings

Have you ever wondered what the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button next to regular search on Google meant? If you were confused, you're not alone. Google has finally updated a change on Thursday that makes it a bit more clear what it button does. Now, if you scroll over the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button, it will initiate a slot machine-like effect and spins a random new "feeling" out of eight options, such as playful or puzzled. With this update, each new feeling will bring up different Google product.

Google is making changes to its sometimes useful "I'm feeling lucky" buttonand turning it into a ever-changing advertisement for Google services, projects, and a few fun Easter Eggs.

I'm Feeling the Results

I gave the new "I'm Feeling…" button a spin to see what kind of results it would give me. Clicking on the "I'm Feeling Wonderful" button took me to theGoogle World Wonders project, which lets you tour 132 historic sites in 18 countries around the world via Street View. You can get up close and personal with world-renowned sites such as Stonehenge in the United Kingdom, Australia's Shark Bay, and Yosemite National Park in the U.S.

Clicking on "I'm Feeling Hungry" brings you to a page of search results for local restaurants, and "I'm Feeling Puzzled" will shoot you over toA Google a Day, a trivia game based on Google Search.

AN JOSE, Calif. — After a year of scorched-earth litigation, a jury decided Friday that Samsung ripped off the innovative technology used by Apple to create its revolutionary iPhone and iPad.

The jury ordered Samsung to pay Apple $1.05 billion in the latest skirmish of a global legal battle between the two tech giants. An appeal is expected.

Here's Apple's statement on today's verdict:

We are grateful to the jury for their service and for investing the time to listen to our story and we were thrilled to be able to finally tell it. The mountain of evidence presented during the trial showed that Samsung's copying went far deeper than even we knew. The lawsuits between Apple and Samsung were about much more than patents or money. They were about values. At Apple, we value originality and innovation and pour our lives into making the best products on earth. We make these products to delight our customers, not for our competitors to flagrantly copy. We applaud the courtfor finding Samsung's behaviorwillful and for sending a loud and clear message that stealing isn't right.

This is what Samsung had to say:

Today's verdict should not be viewed as a win for Apple, but as a loss for the American consumer. It will lead to fewer choices, less innovation, and potentially higher prices. It is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners, or technology that is being improved every day by Samsung and other companies. Consumers have the right to choices, and they know what they are buying when they purchase Samsung products. This is not the final word in this case or in battles being waged in courts and tribunals around the world, some of which have already rejected many of Apple's claims. Samsung will continue to innovate and offer choices for the consumer.

Samsung has emerged as one of Apple's biggest rivals and has overtaken as the leading smartphone maker. Samsung's Galaxy line of phones run on Android, a mobile operating system that Google Inc. has given out for free to Samsung and other phone makers.

The U.S. case is one of some 50 lawsuits among myriad telecommunications companies jockeying for position in the burgeoning $219 billion market for computer tablets and smartphones.
